Default Best Way to Lower an 06 Ultra Classic?

I tried the rear chocks with standard shocks to lower my 06 UC. the bike continuously banged the rear tire on the inside of the rear fender whenever i ran over an expansion joint or bridge entrance. The dealer I talked with today, he was trying to sell me an 09 UC, claimed that the bottoming of the shocks would not occur, under normal conditions, if i had used the Harley lowering shocks.

Anyone have an experience with this?

thanks,

What do you mean by rear chocks? Are you talking about those bolt on brackets that lower the stock shocks? I've seen a lot of people use those who had zero problems and then the other half had nothing but issues.

Weird.

I have the lowering blocks on my 2009 Street Glide and they work great. I agree with the above poster...I've seen a ton of people complain about these blocks but I have yet to bottom out with them.....

Weird.
