Default Drive Belt Tension for 2009 Fat Boy?

I want to double check a few things on my new Fat Boy but I don't have a manual. Can someone tell me the advisable amount of free play on the drive belt on an 09 Fat boy?? I can't remember what the right way to check it is so please elaborate as much as possible please..

I don't have a tensioning tool so I am hoping there is some other way to make sure it's in the ball park.

TIA.

You can't accurately check your drive belt tension with the tool, a lot of people do it by feel but to be 100% right, you need the tool.

The amount of play in your belt should be approximately 25mm of play when sitting on the stand but all bikes are different, some get checked with the rider on it, while others are checked without it.

Get a manual and start investing in a few tools if you are going to do service yourself. They cost a few bucks but the money you save by not letting the dealer rip you off will easily pay for the tools and you will always have them for the future.

I am a hack....I just wiggle it and if it deflects less than an inch then I am good to go. I know it's not the right way to do it but it's always worked for me.

I agree with Hammer though.....you should use the tool.
